ABOUT THE LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

The C.A.R. Leadership Academy is a 12-month transformative program designed to empower the next generation of California REALTORS® to unlock their leadership potential and make an impact in the real estate industry. With a mission to foster excellence, diversity, and collaboration, the Academy offers immersive learning experiences, strategic mentorship, and access to top thought leaders.

 

Participants will engage in monthly interactive training sessions and group coaching, tackle real-world challenges through a group project, and gain the skills and confidence needed to lead with integrity, inspire change, and influence policy. More than just skill-building, this program connects emerging leaders with a forward-thinking community committed to shaping the future of C.A.R. and the real estate profession.

 

Applications for the Class of 2026 are now open and close June 30, 2025.

WHO SHOULD APPLY?

The Leadership Academy is for California REALTORS® with at least 5 years of experience who are passionate about advancing their careers, giving back to the community, and gaining valuable leadership experience. Whether you are a seasoned leader or looking to develop your skills, this program is designed to sharpen what you already know and equip you with new ways of moving your projects, relationships, and goals forward.

Want to stand out? We're looking for leaders who have a vision for their own growth, with specific areas they’d like to improve within themselves and the industry.

Class of 2025 participant

TIME COMMITMENT

Participation in the C.A.R. Leadership Academy requires a meaningful investment of time throughout the program year. Participants should expect an average of 6-8 hours per month, including in-person trainings, virtual sessions, group coaching, Capstone group collaboration, and continued learning assignments.

 

Participants are expected to attend ten training sessions throughout the year:

  • One in-person orientation at the 2025 Leadership EDGE Conference (October 28-30, 2025)

  • Three full-day in-person trainings scheduled in conjunction with the 2026 Winter, Spring, and Fall C.A.R. Business Meetings

  • Six virtual training sessions, approximately 4 hours each

 

Nine 1-hour group coaching calls are also held throughout the program. Participants are expected to attend at least five of these coaching calls.

Additional time outside of classes will be required in order to meet with assigned Capstone project teams and complete varied continued learning assignments. Group members are expected to meet periodically outside of scheduled sessions to collaborate, contribute ideas, and prepare their final project to be presented at the end of the program.​​​

TUITION DETAILS

The cost of the program is $1000, to be covered by the participant. 

​

Participants are responsible for arranging and covering their own travel expenses to attend the full-day in-person sessions at C.A.R.'s Winter, Spring, and Fall Business Meetings. C.A.R. will cover travel expenses for participants attending the Leadership EDGE Conference from October 28–30, 2025, including round-trip transportation (up to a specified amount), a two-night hotel stay, and conference registration, to be arranged by C.A.R.
